Do you know what processor your PC has?

To run 64bit you need dual core processor at least the advantage of 64bit operating system is it will use both processors properly so in theory should run faster versus 32bit

the main reasons to use 64 bit over 32 is

1- 32bit operating system can only see and utilize a total of 3 GB of memory even if u have more than this fitted in your system.
2- for the new 64 bit software as to have files larger than 2 GB.

sorry for that m8
but it is the ugly truth, 32 bit systems don't use or utilize more than 3 gigs

if u look at ur system description, u'll find it saying RAM is 3 GIG

Your CPU is 64bit, so in effect you could install 64bit operating system and use all your 4GB ram.

As already stated a 32bit operating will only see 4gb of memory not 3gb as other people have said. However it is a total of 4gb so if your onboard graphics card is 512mb and you have also purchased a 1gb graphics card then that will only 2½ gig left for the OS. The main advantage is that it will run a lot smoother with the 64 bit archetecture. If you install office and other apps be sure to download the 64 bit version as this will utitilise the hardware and run to its full potential.. Now not all software is available in 64bit but you can use the x86 install in compatibility mode. The main thing is that all your drivers that you download need to be the 64bit version. If you are having difficulty obtaining the windows7 64bit drivers, you can always try the Vista 64bit ones. Anyhow I would personally go for 64bit. As browsing the web will be better. Good Luck

What you can do is install a time demo version. I have a few copy's of 180 day versions. install, update then flog as a time demo. anyone with half a brain knows that a time demo can be permenantly disabled. even the built in time demo has a facility to reset itself 4 times that gives you 2 years of free computing :) personally i wipe my pc about once every 6 months anyway. to many porn sites!!

Some software will actually run slower on win7 64bit than 32bit. The software actually needs to be written to take advantage of the 64bit architecture (you'd be surprised how little still is only 32bit). When you run a 32bit program on a 64bit system, the OS has to adapt the program so it works properly- the process is called thunking.

I have had a couple of so called 64bit laptops that were full of problems - these systems were formatted and reinstalled with 32bit and have run flawlessly ever since. Basically 32bit has a lot more support and the drivers are mature. 32bit out of the box is definitely "snappier"

Generally though if you can run 64bit then you should (unless running legacy software that will not run under 64bit) as things are only going to move forward.

Tip of the day: If you cannot find a win7 driver then try to install a Vista driver manually - most of the time they work very well.

You can also allow 32 bit windows so you can use more of the ram so you get best of both worlds if you know how
