build 649 is a very old build now, go to www.openvix.co.uk download the latest build there and flash that to the receiver.

No NFI for DUO or any other VU+ boxes.

Larry-G
05-07-13, 20:23
no we dont produce images in .NFI format. you must use a USB stick.

so what exactly have you tried and what exactly was the result ( in as much detail as possible please ).

hawaythelad

I download the openvix 3.0.688
I formatted the usb stick to fat32
I put the file onto the usb stick & plugged the usb into the duo
then rebooted the box
the box gose to starting & dose not read the usb
it just loads the old image

Larry-G

so it has not detected the image or USB stick then.

are you sure the file structure is correct ?. ie

USB STICK > vuplus > duo > image files.

also do you have more than one USB device to try incase your receiver just does not like the current one ?.

hawaythelad

that's how I have put it on the stick
no I don't have another stick can you recommend one

I can pop to a shop & get scandisk

Larry-G

I use several including some unbranded 2GB sticks, but mainly i tend to use the 4 GB sandisk cruzor blade sticks and they always work well for me.

you could also try a Micro SD card in a USB adaptor if you have one, i have flashed my receivers a few times this way.

How to restore flash a image in ViX 3.0 without a USB stick ( all receivers )
Click Here (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?28833-How-to-restore-flash-a-image-in-ViX-3-0-without-a-USB-stick-(-all-receivers-)&p=215907&viewfull=1#post215907)

but you must first be running a suitable image that allows you to update from within the image manager in the first place ( details in the tutorial ).

ok try this.

open a telnet session and issue the update command.

init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6

Then once it's rebooted use the above tutorial to flash the box directly to Build 690 from within the image manager.
