TM Twin with External WD Passport 1tb HDD

Hi

Does anybody have any experience of managing to get a WD Passport (powered by USB) to successfully mount on a TM Twin? The drive is recognised, but simply says unavailable. It will neither initialise nor mount, and is driving me to distraction. I'm on the latest vix image but I've also tried 4d to no avail. I'm having exactly the same problem mounting a 4gig usb stick

Do you get the same issue, if you connect the HDD with receiver powered down?

Are you aware that you can fit a 2.5 drive inside the Twin? Will be tidier for you if you take it out of the caddy.

Thanks for your reply. I'll try connecting when it's powered down and report back to you. I'm aware that the drive can be fitted
internally but I was trying to avoid taking the casing apart.

I am afraid I don't know. Someone had a similar issue and the same thing was suggested.
