This happened on my Duo, I did a check for updates, then went in to view the changes then hit the exit button on the remote which caused enigma2 to crash and restart. Thought nothing more of it as whilst it was crashing I realised I maybe should have used one of the colour buttons to exit ?

Hi Just got a quad today off Sposnor. When i click software update it stuck on upgrade in progree. Please wait etc. Been lke this for a 1 hour. Can i just power off ?

I had something similar a few weeks ago trying to use a backup image. Ron was saying I could connect a cable to my PC to see what the box was doing/not doing but I had no such cable.
I took a deep breath and manual re-powered after 3 hours. The image had actually flashed but information process did not run through completion. It's up to you if you want to try it though. Not exactly what you wanted the first time using it!
