View Full Version : [VU+ Solo] Have i "bricked" my vu solo & can it be salvaged?

hi, need a lil help, i was updating software on my vu solo n everything froze for more than 5mins, i turned power off but now there is no picture, it turns on (green light on) but there is no picture. have i bricked? is it salvageable? thanks for help

Can you ftp or telnet in to the box. This way, you'd be able to save any config...

Then, you should be able you reflash latest image and setup and transfer config back...

I had problem beginning of week where cross epg crashed, and box would not load. So, just rehashed and all ok... :)

i've tried ftp into box but cant connect, tried rebooting, reset, tried reflashing with latest image but all i get is green flashing button but no picture, am at a total loss as to what to do, thanks

Yes ive tried flashing bootloader,
i put latest bootloader on usb stick, unplugged box n put usb in n turned box on, it turns on and starts flashing green but not picture comes on t.v, ive tried another hdmi cable but still same. when the box is on without usb it has a continous green light on, thanks

You have to flash the image after the new bootloader buddy..

Choose the Vu+ Solo bootloader from here and flash.. Bootloader will only take 2-3 seconds.. and then you will get the flashing light on the front to say that its finished..

power down your solo.. and put this image on your usb stick..

Choose the latest image from here and flash

once you have flashed the bootloader you then need to also flash the image it self.

you can get the latest stable image from www.openvix.co.uk.

hi sorry to hijackthe thread im having kind of the same problem green power light on nothing else and im not sure wht bootloader is of thing like that can any1 breack don wat to do start to finish
