Recording timer help

Can someone point me at a guide or help with setting up timers, if i set a timer up for a particular program, it seems to look for that program at any time on that channel from then on, so it gets recorded multiple times, what I am after if possible is to set a sort of series link, so for example it records the same programe at a particular time and day, until i stop it.

Not record the repeats, only the day and time I select on a weekly basis.....

This is the process that i use..

Long press of red button
Highlight the programme i want to record
Press the green button
You now have a list in your Timer Entry screen
press down 3 times to highlight Repeat Type
Press left button to change to once
Scroll to bottom option called After Event
and press left again until you see Do Nothing
