epg on flash memory?

hi, I have read that I should use epg on the usb, but I am using the usb socket for a wifi board I have custom installed inside the box with a proper swivel antenna on the back case, (couldn't find a wifi dongle types that could receive the signal well enough in my situation), anyway I wanted to know if using the flash for epg will hurt the box, its been fine so far (couple of months) but what about the long term?

It wont hurt the box as such to save the EPG to the flash but if it corrupts which it likely will at some point your flash will become full rendering the receiver unusable until you reflash the image.

thanks, I understand what the problem with using flash is now, I will maybe see if I can install a hub if its supported so I can run both.

yes a hub should work fine, i would recommend a externally powered one my self rather than bus powered.
