AVI's - 50% don't play on ViX, yet the same avi's play on my PS3, xbox, WD TVlive media tank and even from an SD card in my TV.

Anyone know why the ET9x00 won't play them?

thanks

Is the ET9x00 a satellite receiver or media player?

This has been answered over and over again: it's down to the codecs used.
An STB can only decode video in hardware, so only files that are 100% compliant with the build-in codecs can be played.

Easy solution: recode all files using the H264 codec before offering them to your STB.

BTW: 'AVI' is a container; it doesn't say in anyway which codec has been used.

Hi thanks for the reply - have you got any tips as to which program will do this quickly and easily?

thanks
