Which one performs best? NTFS, Ext3, Ext4?

I want to use the HDD as a central point to share across the network (a temporary NAS) so performance of the disk read/writes and network speed will be critical.

If your using the HDD internally it must be formatted to EXT 3 / 4 otherwise you won't be able to use time shift or record any program's over 4GB in size ( approx 1 hr of HD content ). Use the image it self to initialize the HDD.

Well, NTFS is also capable of handling files over 4 GB. But it doesn't handle symlinks.

With regard to the use for the STB Ext4 would be the best option. And if it's an internal HDD (which I presume) it makes no difference for other users in your network.

To get your internal HDD formatted to Ext4 it's best if your box does the job.

I do not know why, but my Quad is not mounting my Harddisk anymore.
First i changed my SSD to make sure it is not broken with a working 2.5 HDD, nothing changed no disk is mounted.
Tried Initialising, but no luck.
It is seing my ATA(ST250LT007-9ZV14) disk, anybody have a idea ?

How are you doing the mounting? Pressing save afterwards?

Normaly, the internal disk is mounted automaticly.
Now i am trying to acces the disk by Initialising, doing this i get a error. "Timeout elapsed, sorry"
When trying to mount the box crashes, i see a error in the fstab file "index list out of range"

The box is detecting the drives,

Detected media:
/dev/sda1 Not mounted
/dev/sdb1 Not mounted
