1) Prepare a USB stick, format FAT32. I'd recommend using this HP Format tool (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?45-USB-Format-Tool).
2) Download the image you would like to use, extract the venton-hdx folder.
3) Copy the venton-hdx folder to root of your USB stick.
4) Connect to a REAR USB PORT on your Venton Unibox HDx.
5) Power on and wait for the flashing process to automatically flash, once complete you will see a complete message on front VFD. DO NOT POWER OFF DURING THE FLASHING PROCESS!

Once you copy the venton-hdx folder to USB stick as in step 3, you should see the venton-hdx folder when accessing the root of the USB stick. Folder structure should be venton-hdx > flash files.

I'd also recommend installing Teracopy (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?24772-Teracopy-Great-for-copying-flash-files-to-USB-sticks&p=184082#post184082), although not essential, to your PC to copy files from PC to USB stick, less chance of corrupting flash files.

Thats the way the latest bootloader works, you need to let the unit reboot after its flashed, ignore the message.

Hi, my Venton Unibox HD2 does not flash.

I have correctly downloaded, unzipped and placed the folder, venton-hdx in an empty, formatted FAT32 usb drive. I followed the instructions above and the box just boots as normal. What is the reason for this?

The USB drive is working fine, it flashes when it's inside the box too (I have used back USB ports as instructed).

This is highly frustrating. I have flashed technomate box before and had no such problem. Can anyone help??

Use a Kingston USB stick MAX 8GB. Formatted FAT32 using this tool http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?45-HP-USB-Stieck-Drive-Format-Tool
