locating my url ?

I am trying to set up a streaming connection between my lappy and my duo, whenever i click on open stream, i am asked to enter a url which url is it the laptop or the duo. If it the duo how do i locate it. I have been trying to set this up for weeks without much success. Whenever i click on samba i get an error screen. Don't know what that's about.
Any help will be appreciated. :confused::(

Openwebif is installed by default on the image. This allows you to stream a live channel or recording (not hd). To access it you simply type the ip of the box into the address bar. Don't use www. or http before the ip - only the ip of the box.

To get the box ip go to menu setup info network

If you haven't, I recommend you assign a static ip to your box. Menu. System. Network. Device setup. Network wizard.

Use interface. Yes
Use dhcp. No
Ip add. Your one
Net mask. 255.255.255.0
Use gateway. Yes
Gateway address. Your router address ( maybe the same as your box ip but the last digits would be 1) eg
Box 192.168.0.30
Gateway 192.168.0.1
