You can download CCcam using the remote on the 4D images. You can only get the Vix menu on the Vix images. Give Vix a try, if you dont like it, go back to the 4D image or the other image teams.

all ViX images can be downloaded from www.openvix.co.uk along with ViX compatible softcams.

Hi tryed downloading that and put it on a usb stick and transfare it to the TM 2T OE.Its not reading it on the usb stick as all the other downloads i tried. It only reads the enigma 2 plugin ccam from the stick but i dont know what that does if anything. Why is my box not recognising any of these programs?
I really need to start at the start with someone telling me the right download the right way step by step through the box settings?

download the CCcam .ipk file from www.openvix.co.uk

Place this file directly on to a USB stick and place that stick into the receiver while watching live TV, making sure you have no menu's open.
you will be asked if you want to install the file select yes.
once the file has been installed FTP into the receiver and copy your CCcam.cfg file to /etc/
then in the receiver press blue button, softcam manager, green button to start the cam, blue button to enable auto start.

Job done.

You really should take your time & read more guides on the site.
FTP = file transfer protocol.
The box is running an ftp server, on your pc/mac you will run an ftp cient, google filezilla.

Then your not on a OpenViX image so i really cant help as i dont use the 4D images.

please when asking for help always state exactly which image you are using otherwise we will assume you are using a ViX image and tailor our advice accordingly.

Hi ok ive read your tutorials which all were a great help in getting to understand how all this works,as i said im a new be so i doing my best, anyway this is where im at now.I factory reset my box,i then put open Vix update on a flash disc and up dated my box. Then i followed your tutorial on FTP to the receiver using enigma2-cams ccam 2.2.1.Now when i go into the menu>setup>softcam management >Select softcam>CCam221>green button it just says Softcam setup... and nothing happens. So ive obviously done something wrong or forgot something.I would be grateful for a little more help.:)

Have you ftped you CCcam.cfg to /etc . This contains your boxkey for reading your card.
Does it show anything next to "Active:" at the top?
Have you enabled startup? If so, there will be a tick next to the Cam's name.

finko1672
13-05-13, 08:02
Hi well what i done is created a CCcam.cfg with notepad plus and copied that to the /etc folder. The thing that i dont get is that file is empty so how does it work.So i dont see Active in the soft cam menu, theres no options here to startup. It says Softcam setup.... and thats it.I must be missing something? Is there another CCcam.cfg file i can use?

judge
13-05-13, 08:29
no, all you need for a basic set-up is a blank file.
when you ftp to /usr/softcams/ can you see the cam there?
if so, right click & chmod to 755.
does it then show up in your softcam set-up?

abu baniaz
13-05-13, 08:32
Posted in error.

finko1672
13-05-13, 13:48
No i cant see them there.Ok in the FTP it tells me CCcam.cfg "file transfar successful" but that was sending it to /etc. I haven't sent anything to usr/ folder.Should i send something there too.

judge
13-05-13, 14:09
If the cam isn't in /usr/softcams/ you either haven't installed it or have installed a version for another image.
Grab the cam from http://openvix.co.uk & install the ipk file.

finko1672
13-05-13, 18:36
Ok i have usr/softcams and there is a CCcam.cfg file there. So thats good,so when i go to the receiver menu>setup>soft cam manager >select CCcam 2.2.1 nothing else happens.I cant activate CCcams.

after you placed the ipk in /tmp/ did you press Blue Button -> ViX -> Install Local Extension & pick the cam to install?

finko1672
13-05-13, 19:09
Yeah i have installed it through local Extension.I dont have ViX on my menu when i press the blue button though,I have software management>local extenion..maybe this the problem.

Ok well i did try to install it the way you said and after reading the tutorials, i have learnt .again i am a new be ,ive tried to up date the box again with a flash disc with another OpenVix file but the box won't go into the booting mode where it prompts you to press the OK button.Ive used a different usb port but is still wont go into that mode.Do you know how i can get it to boot?

Format the USB stick again using this tool (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?45-USB-Format-Tool&p=78&viewfull=1#post78)
and try again. If that doesn't work, try another USB stick.

Larry-G
13-05-13, 20:07
you may have to first update the bootloader, it's the exact same process as a image flash you can get the bootloader from here.

http://www.world-of-satellite.com/enigma2/openvix/index.php?dir=Bootloaders/

once you have flashed the bootloader, format the USB stick and try a image flash again.

finko1672
13-05-13, 20:17
Great Thanks Ill try that.

16-05-13, 07:25
Hi ok i tryed to put the Bootloader on first but it won't flash to the box,so then i try to image flash the box and that went through the process and updated the box.Now when i power the box off / on again Openvix comes on the screen but thats it.The box won't start up,it just keeps on saying Booting..... Is this because i cant get the Bootloader on first ,and is the a sequence that all these Bootloader/images/updates etc have to go on the box?

abu baniaz
16-05-13, 19:53
There has only been one bootloader for the 2T, so you dont need to flash it.

Start afresh, format your USB stick, place image on it and flash again. Follow Sicilians' guide. Leave your USB stick in after reboot and make sure you press the EXIT button.

Dont worry about leaving the USB stick connected after flashing the first time. It won't flash again unless you press OK. YOu can remove it afterwards.

Hi,well fare play to you, thats done the trick, leaving the usb stick in after flashing and powering the box off/on and pressing the Exit botton repeatingly for about 10sec worked.Thats what was missing.I now have Vix images on my receiver and active CCcam working also.I know it was a slow road for me getting this far but alls good now.I'm sure i'll have a few fine tuning questions but thanks to everyone who put up with all my stupid questions over the last week as i learnt about this.Cheers....:):):D:D

Not quite.

we have had at least 3 or 4 different Bootloaders from TM that I can think of off the top of my head. The bootloader on the openvix website is the proper one for use with the ViX image. If you use a older bootloader it simply wont be able to read the fileformat on the usb stick needed to flash the receiver.

Hi again,Ok My box is up and running now.Theres just a few thinks. For my channel list i went in to>AutoBouquetsMaker>Providers and selected Sky Ireland /UK etc and done a scan. Now i have these channels but there still all over the place .Can i edit these and have Favourites the way i want or should i have FTP the channel list to the receiver as per your tutorial? The other thing is i can't record to a hdd the message i keep on getting is
"The directory/hdd/timeshift/is not a EXT2,EXT3,EXT4 or NFS partition.Make sure you select a valid partition type".When i go into Timeshift setting i can't see my hdd in the locations?
