Box won't boot with HDD attached

I've got a 2.5 HDD that my ultimo or solo2 wont boot.

The HDD is fine as it was in the solo2 but when converting to ext4 i had a power cut:(

I've plugged into a windows machine and tried formatting in ext2/4 & no format but it still does not allow the box to boot


Any points to get this HDD to work?

ive put another hdd in and worked fine, strange, this one works fine under windows

How did you format it in windows? try FAT and that should be fine.

never had to format a HDD as box has always recognised it.

ive tried, exfat, ntfs then used a program to unformat, format in ext3 and 4

there might be something wrong with it but passes all tests in windows...

as i said the hdd did work until i lost the power in the middle of a format on the box

Format it to FAT on PC and retry on box.
