View Full Version : Motorised dish with twin LNB?

Daft question, hopefully. At the moment I have an old TM9101 running a motorised dish with a single LNB. However, this receiver is a bit old now, so I fancy upgrading. I have a twin LNB spare from another job, so I could:

get a TM-2T (other dual tuner boxes are available, but this one looks good)
put the dual LNB in the motorised dish
run one tuner via the motor (as now)
run the other straight to the other port on the LNB.

Question is, will the TM-2T get hopelessly confused about not being able to control the motor on both channels, or can it cope? Has anyone else tried this?

Cheers,

B.

No it won't. There is a setting for it in tuner config. It has been confirmed to work.

Not a daft question.

connect tuner a or 1 to the motor then the motor to the lnb. in the tuner config page set this as you would any motorized dish.
connect tuner b or 2 directly to the lnb and set this to second cable from a motorized satellite.

the receiver will do the rest.

( sorry i cant remember the exact wording rote now but thats about the gist of it ).

That is fine: Enigma now knows that tuner A will command the motor and tuner B can 'listen' to all transponders on the same satellite as tuner A is.

Thanks all. TM-2T it is then!
