I just did an unattended update to VIX 658 (from 656) and as the box boots up, the LCD screen on the Ultimo flickers violently on/off. It happens after the loading screen shows (after the VU+ logo) when it shows the circles. It only flickers for 10-15 seconds, but then loads normally.
The power lights also flicker off for a second when the spinners shrink in size.
This hasn't happened with other updates in the past and reverting back to an older saved image the problem doesn't show, so guess it is something to do with the 658 image.
Thought I'd better report it. Apart from that it works fine.
+1 it happens on mine too.
try re-flashing 658 and report back. please.

Just confirmed on my ultimo, and yes, happens for a bit after reboot. Only really restart e2 and never watched the lcd after first update...
Unable to flash at the mo, so if one of the other users can would be good :)

Image version 659 on my Ultimo is still doing the same although there were references to changes LCD in the changelog.
so, flickering should be fixed in next build 660.

Just flashed Ultimo, UNO & Solo2 with build 660 (not yet public released): no more flickering.
