Hi
I completed a software update via receiver but when the box rebooted it had a black screen. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks
Me to updating to 658 but only on my solo. Restored to earlier. It fine on my duo and solo2
will i have to do a full reflash?
Yep but you can restore settings if you backed them up
no such black screens here on the boxes i have tested so far including all Vu's ( except the solo ) and the TM Twin - Tm 2T.

As no one so far supplied us any log about this problem, we won't be able to fix anything at all.
Did an online update again and same issue.
These are the logs they might help.
i restored from the files on this website as did not back up first (i know silly). But when i install oscam it just hangs on the VIX screen after reboot. Openvix 3.0 Build 2.04. Not sur ehow to get all the latest files onto Solo. Any advice?
Hi I also have the same problem on my VU Solo too. After upgrading to 658, I have a black screen. Will be going back to a previous version. Glad to see it is not me as I thought something had gone terribly wrong!
Edit: 3.0.656 works fine when I have flashed back to it

I'm not sure if that's all, but there's definitely a problem with GoogleMaps. Apparently you tried to remove it: did that work?
For the rest the box seems to be running: is that correct?

You're moving recordings: are you sure you gave the box sufficient time for that?
Me too on a fresh Solo install with nothing else plugged in.
Had to revert to 656 to see the screen again.
Just come to look, and my solo doing the same...
Just taken a bootlog and uploaded to the dev room :)

Yeah.. Recordings are stored on DUO not locally.
The black screen comes up straight away (before blue logo screen) so its unlikely that a plugin or setting is causing the issue as they would not have been loaded yet...
The issue isn't there in backup so its something in the update.

Also Ive noticed on my SOLO for a few updates now that power timers are not working properly.
Don't know if anyone else was having power timer issues on solo...

At the moment we are building build 659. However: I'm not sure if the Solo-problem has already been fixed.
About the timers: please open a separate thread for that. I have no Solo, but on other boxes I use the powertimers without any issues.

That's why the image feeds have been set to unstable again. As far as I'm aware flashing directly to 658 on the solo is fine it's the online update that's the issue. ( I could be wrong though as I don't have a solo to test with ).

For clarification, this will only work on an upgrade from 656 to 659... There is no build of 659 uploaded yet, as it is being testing before being uploaded ...
Same here,, did online update to 658 and got black screen, Downloaded 658 zip file and tried to recover via USB flash, this time VU Solo+ hung on blue loading please wait ..
Reflashed back to 649 and all good.
After online update from 656 now sticks on blue splash screen displaying "loading please wait...". Recycled power and same thing. Never gets to vix spinner

Im not certain if 660 is available yet but have you tried a online update from 656 to 660 ??.

Yes mine is the same, still blank screend from upgradeing 656 to 659 :(

660 is undergoing some final last minute tests before andy pushes it out to the public, should be either tonight or sometime tomorrow but dont hold me to that.

Did online to 659 thinking the problem was with 658 blank screen so imagine my surprise to find the same on next build not checked if 660 is available yet but may stick where I am for now untill i see the stable green icon on the next safe build.

Whatever the latest online version was. I didn't bother checking at the time. Will restore tonight (my time) and check the version. I suspect it was 659 as I don't think 660 was available then.

So please check the buildnumber next time. A statement like 'the latest available' doesn't give us much idea.
My original post never said "latest available". And given you have only released 659 since the problem what else was it going to be? And why ask me if it was 660 when it hasn't been released? Don't take this post the wrong way but.....

Please don't overcomplicate things and always state the buildnumber.
It happens quite often that we have multiple (test) builds in a short period of time. Sometimes they are available for download, sometimes only via an online update, sometimes only for the dev-team.

660 is dev only build ;), build 662 is current being uploaded.
Any times on this being uploaded? I've run an online update on a Uno and Cccam has stopped working, it's showing as running but is black screened with no response as tho it's disabled
will be a few hours, i have roughly 1.57gb to upload per feed, and with 22 feeds to upload, thats roughly 35 Gb to upload.

You could download an older image until the new one is up.

My ultimo has just updated showing 662 in the change log but 659 in the information menu after update. Updated from 656.
Have a solo 2 on 659 but it is showing no update.

The log is from git: one log for all boxes. So as GB is online all info will currently say 662. But that doesn't mean an update is available.
It is indeed a bit confusing.

the solo2 image uses the newer kernel i'm not sure yet as i have not updated mine, but i'd imagine a full reflash is in order for this box, same as with the xtrends.

No need asking that: try 'Software update' on your box and you'll be told what's available...

Not true: an online update will indeed work, but that's no guarantee for a 100% working box in case of a kernel update. You'll find out f it is, but a reflash will only take you 6 minutes and then you're sure.

as rob say's reflash is safer, but update 'should' work, be i also recommend to people to reflash. and from build 664 you can reflash from ImageManager again.

Nope: the kernel update relates only to the Solo2 and all Xtrends. All other boxes remain on the same kernel.

Hi Guys,
I apologise if I am in the wrong thread but I have been following it for a week now. I have a Vu+ Duo and I did a software update from 656 to 658 last week and that's is where my problems have started. I get a black screen ONLY on the subscription channels (Movies, Sports, International etc) but all the freeview channls work jut fine (BBC 1,2 ITV, C4, Ceebies etc). I am now on version 664 and as some of you have your problems fixed (on solo I think) I and my duo are still getting black screen. Softcam is running fine, done fresh channel scan from AutoBouquestMaker & also have done numerous re-flashs with 649, 656 & 658 with no luck.
Please advise what I can do to solve my problem. Thanks

Best is to create your own thread for your own problem.
Just updated Solo via online update and all fine, no black screen afterwards and CCcam Switch menu is fixed :D
Just a note about similar problem i was having, after updating at the end of last week, after rebooting the screen stayed on the splash screen, pressing channel selection allowed a channel to be viewed and all worked normally, rebooting still displayed the splash screen.
Tried each version since then and the same problem, sent log from build 664, now on 665, same problem.
I've now resolved my problem by removing the Startup service selection and rebooting, all worked correctly. Have now been able to re-set the startup service and it now working correctly.
