image manager backup fail

i am having problem backing up image on xp1000 on 16gb inialized usb stick with plenty of room.
it will go to 20% in job view then stay there for about 10 mins then fail message comes up and leaves message"image manager error:timeout elapsed,sorry"and leaves a mount folder i cant erase as messes up box and a temp folder?
i have location /media/hdd/
i am on build vix 3.0.649
where am i going wrong!

Mine did exactly the same, are you in Timeshift while doing a backup?, Tried deleting the backup image and folders the other day and ended up in a boot loop. Havent bothered backing up again as didnt want to risk it lol. Wonder if using a fat32 stick works better for backups

Ideally you should not be doing any thing with the receiver when creating a backup as it is a memory intensive process.

Which exact image build are you using ?, also please upload any corresponding debug logs for this failure.

as with other vu boxes and they have issues with some types of usb sticks as you cant flash boxes with them,have you tried other usb sticks?what format is the usb on?
