Hi, tried to install on VIX 3.0.649 enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam_1.20.7456_mip32sel.ipk but it giving me an error, the older version1.00 5953 working alright, is there any other version that could be installed here? or a reason why this would not work? error is about not compatible architecture...

Can confirm that this also fails on a TM Twin, Vix Build 649.

mips-tuxbox-oe2.0 versions will work.
So, for the latest unstable oscam, go to

http://download.oscam.cc/index.php?&direction=0&order=mod&directory=1.20_TRUNK/mips-tuxbox-oe2.0
As of today, oscam-svn8621-mips-tuxbox-oe2.0-webif-Distribution.tar.gz is the latest version there...

Download it, extract it, copy it to /usr/softcams/ (if using ViX), set file permissions to 755.

You will still need to create your config files, once done, Blue button -> Softcam manager to start/auto start it.

will do it right away, but sorry for the silly question- how to set file permissions to 755?

lots of different ways... right click on it in your ftp app after you transfer it over, should be an option there.

bugger, could not run it, it freezes .... Update: got it eventually working, this file is only named oscam, changing it to oscam.8621 and rebooting enigma, stopping old 5621 and starting up this 8621 all good!!! so far.... I'll update tomorrow if anything changes... no more messing today, Night shift for stobby:smash:

Totally unstable. 8621 freezes constantly. Maybe something is missing here... Also the file size of this new 8621 is half a size. Beside the config files is there anything else that should be saved? Or shall i try the older versions till i find a stable one? What you guys using? Is everyone on cccam instead of oscam?

I've been using build 8621 for a few days now witout issue.
Anyway, just looked & see 8625 is available...
Best to find a build you're happy with & stick with that or stick with cccam, nothing wrong with Cccan 2.3.0 if it can serve all your needs?
Nothing other than the binary & config file/files are needed for either cam.

should also say, renaming wont make a difference, but it can be handy to add the version number to it so you can ensure the version you want to enable is the one you set in auto-start.

thanks Judge, I'll try out few and see what happens, i think solo2 is still new in the race, and too expensive as well, but it is worth every penny! speed of this little box is awesome, my first linux box, and really dont regret spending extra few quids!

I tried installing the Oscam that failed.

1. Everytime I get an update, I get the following "Package enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam version 1.20.7456 has no valid architecture, ignoring". Could someone teach me how to remove this file from the list of packages the receiver tries to upgrade.

2. In my opinion, "enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam version 1.20.7456" should be removed from the download section if it does not install.

Still returns invalid architecture warning.

no idea so mate, try opkg remove enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam
other than that, if you just remove the cam manually from /usr/softcams/ are you still getting the error?

It did not install on the first attempt, the version of oscam in /usr/softcams is the lower edition which installed fine.

7456 has registered itself somewhere even though it did not install. Not a biggee, but would like to know how to remove it. If it bugs me enough, I will flash a new image.

Just removed the non working version of oscam, thanks for letting us know.
Also, uploaded an ipk of current unstable build, 8625.
Let us know if you have any issues with it.

thanks Judge, i am testing the new 8626 build, but the most stable for me is to use of oscam 5953 with CCcam 2.3.0 running together, no simple freeze at all, but will post soon about the new build
