View Full Version : 2.5 HDD for Duo

My 3.5 seagate barracuda has just failed in my duo, I only have a 2.5 western digital barracuda drive. My friend has insisted it is better to fit a 2.5 drive as it will be quieter and less strain on the box.

How should I mount it on the hdd bracket though, should I drill holes in the bracket to match up with my hard drive screw holes then just put grommets in as normal and screw hdd to bracket...

Just tighten 1 or 2 zip ties around the bracket - http://goo.gl/i5Fi6 - have a look on this guide, i use zip ties :cool:

Yep that's pretty much exactly what I did with the TM twin when I fitted a old laptop drive in it.

yeah, no need for drilling holes, especially if you have any intention of ever selling the box on.
Zip ties will do the job & cause no damage.
