Hi all,

I've has this problem since I've owned my Vu+ Duo. Every now and then when I select "restart" from the menu the box will restart but the remote control will no longer work. The display will show "restarting" but usually some of the letters will be missing. The only way to be able to use the remote again is to power off the Vu+ and power back on again (sometimes however this will need to be done a couple of times to get it all working properly again).

This has happened on many different versions of Vix so possibly it's a hardware fault.

Does anyone else experience this?

Cheers.

Yes this is a common fault on some duo's, but not all. I get this on both mine.

Safest way to get going again is to telnet: init 4 (this puts enigma to sleep) turn rear of box of at switch.leave it for about a minute to give time for capacitors to discharge. Then switch back on. This usually does the trick.
