quick query am just at a mates doing a installign am updating him vu duo from a very old image of vix to the latest it succesfully installs the image and upon reboot it just hangs on the Strarting... part any ideas?

Am just trying the rear ports now

what image build had been on the box?
maybe he needs a bootloader update too.

it was image from a good year ago hwo do i get bootloader?

Bootloader only takes a second or 2 to flash, try that & then the latest build, currently build 632.

Start by flashing the bootloader, then the image.
Don't restore any settings backups as the previous image is well out of date.
