Help With Vix Backup Manager Please

I need your advice please, I want to backup my settings on the vu+duo before I update vix image. Do I backup settings device: / media/usb/, or should I change device and safe to /media / hd.

I saved my backup to HDD, but then when i connect via FTP and navigate to the HDD folder where i saved the backup there is no physical file? just a folder? Any suggestions?

Press blue button>VIX>Backup manager for settings and image what does it say at the top of the box for location?
