Just saw the sponsors advertisement for the VU+ Duo says that the box is 3D ready - so does this mean that it will play 3D iso's or Mkv's??
If not what does it mean?? :)

Yes it will play back 3D iso's, mkv's, avi's and so on aswell as 3D TV stations.
BUT!
So will all almost any other modern satellite receiver or media playback device.
The 3D ''magic'' happens in the TV ;)
Apart from the addition of 3D friendly menu's in whichever box you use (which in the Vu are quite handy) all the box does is send either a Side by Side or Top/Bottom image or chequerboard(I'm unsure if the Vu+ does sequential 3D as I've never tried)signal to your TV which then processes the signal.
The important things to remember are, a 3D tv is still required to display a 3D image.

Hi,
it will NOT playback all 3D mkvīs and aviīs only 1920x1080 SbS. It will not playback 3D ISOs of BluRays.

ciao

Yep, there are only a couple of media streamers able to process both iso,s and mkv,s which was why I was so surprised to see 3D ready...... Thought I could save myself €200 - 300. :)
