There is a whole thread on this and "best" is very subjective, for some price is the decider, others speed etc get my drift.

Make sure you buy a 5900rpm hard drive as they are much more quiet and suited to a set top box.

I took mine from my sky hd box. It was a 500gb seagate pipeline
