Hi my m8 just got a new stb from world of satellite but the tuner will not scan any channels. I have tried it on two motorised dishes which work perfectly but there is no movement. Even freview channels do not appear. Can someone tell me if there is some special config settings to get the tuner to operate.

Cheers

What exactly is your satellite setup? Only one motorised dish? Any feed to second tuner?

No only used tuner A and have left B unconfigured

Set Tuner A. Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Tuner Configuration.

Set as per attached Tuner Motorised screenshot, adding your own longitude and latitude.

To scan, Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Manual Scan.

The attached scan-single-satellite screenshot gives an example for 28.2.

To save scanning see this Dreamboxedit guide http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?23187-How-to-send-save-Enigma-Settings-to-the-VUDuo-using-DBEdit

Upto date Motorised settings pack here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?42-Catseye-Enigma2-Settings-file-75-East-to-58-West/page10

The above is assuming that you are using a correctly aligned Diseqc motor.

Yes this is how I have tried to scan - set it up on my own dish which is configured perfectly but scan does not find any channels. Keep getting the message tuner failed. Even tried the reverse by leaving tuner A unconfigured and setting tuner B but exactly the same.

Are you able to test on a fixed dish? Setting as Simple > Single satellite.

Yes I tried it on my fixed sky dish but no difference

Not knowing exactly what you've done I would re-flash and start fresh.

I have already reflashed with the latest vix image and again with a version prior to the latest one but nothing changes. Do you think it could be the tuner itself?

Possibly, drop and email to WoS if thats where you purchased it

I will try the 4D version as a last ditched effort. It was purchased from WoS and arrived brand new yesterday. If this image fails I will tell him to contact WoS

Have you tried the same on the second tuner?

Hi Judge

Yes and still the same. Unusual for this problem with a new box but I believe my m8 has contacted WoS about it and they are going to sort him - good service. Cheers

Even freview channels do not appearFreeview is terrestrial TV not satellite so the TM-2T won't receive it.
