changing pass

I changed tree times de solo2 password with passwd.
Is strange, the 3 pass are valid now;
only the last pass should be valid

any idea?

I delete in /etc/shadow the first line

root:KbD8Exxxxxxx:15763:0:99999:7:::

to

root::15763:0:99999:7:::

retype a new pass and everithing is OK; but when I put a new pass with passwd the old and the new pass working
