im locked out of the stb due to password altered. whats reccomended

Hi all, My password has been changed by a provider and I cant access the vu. I have been told that if I flash a new image it will clear the password. I have read up on how to do it but although im unsure about doing it im more unsure on what image should I use as there are so many out there. Thank

he had this thread on another forum, it seems that he's part of a cardsharing network and his "provider" IE the guy who he gets his channels from has logged into his box and changed his password.

if this is the case we cant help, other than to say reflash the receiver.

Download the image from www.openvix.co.uk and extract the archive to your desktop.

Format a USB stick to Fat 32 then copy the folder vuplus to the USB stick.
power off the receiver and place the stick in one of the USB ports.
power the receiver back on and follow the prompts on the VFD of the receiver it self.

No im not a part of any card share. it was in the receiver when I bought it and as soon as it run out I started getting problems. Thank you I will try tpreflash the image
