Hi Delagroov as per Phoenix request I'm opening this thread for what I found we need to tune in your skin.
First of all thx for fixing what I pointed here (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?6452-Magic-(E)HD-(Lite)-skins&p=190211&viewfull=1#post190211).

I've discovered an other issue in CrossEPG: if I go in provider order nothing is showed. (Just consider that I choosed SkyIt in OpenTv and Rai script). If using the Vix HD default skin everything is fine. (have a look at the screens)

Another strange thing I noticed both on my father's Panasonic and on my own Samsung plasma tv is that the background colour of the menus appears dark blue and not black. While on my LG HD lcd the background is showed black.
Just notice that If I use the Magic HD skin by Rob the background is full black.

Have to look into why ordering provider does not show up. Dont use Crossepg myself, so did not notice..

With the color of the background I can t change behaviour on different Televisions..

Yes for sure. But As I wrote this not happens with Magic HD skin by Rob. So You may have choosen a color code that is not actually black. (Sorry Delagroov, but I'm on Mac and If I were to edit the skin I needed to setup a windows machine to check by miself the skin).
Can you check and compare it to the value Rob set in Magic HD, please?

I dont need to compare, because I choose this background color deliberately.

But you can edit xml also on mac,

<color name="background" value="#000e1018" />

If you want other colors the only way is to change screens by using skin_user_Magic-HD-Night.xml and place this in etc/enigma2 to overule my skin.

But you then you also have to change some graphics like topbar and Vix logo to match the color

Cross Epg ordering is solved and committed, so will be available after update next days

Ok.
So just to understand on your tv set the background is showed as dark blu too?

Delagroov, I've an answer to the colour behaviour.
My LG lcd tv was nicely colour calibrated using a EyeOne2 device. While the other two plasma tvs are not.
Infact as soon as I use a default colour set on the LG tv the background became dark blue.
What do you think?

Thats the point..calibration has influence.
Here on my samsung I also got antreciet/black and no blue at all.
I dont have a device to calibrate, but i used calibration setup from professional review at hdtvtest for my Samsung Tv

If you Lg is calibrated with EyeOne2 device and show you antreciet/black background you know how to setup/calibrate you Tv...

If you use other(exteme) values you get other colors and this depends per brand.

If one uses <color name="background" value="#00000000" /> you dont easy notice difference, because its blackest black.

so for sure it is a consequence of your calibration the color code you choose.
So when you say antreciet/black you mean something that is a dark grey. But antreciet in nature has some blue reflection if you ever seen that.
Now It-s clear.
Anyway I suggest you to review the default background of the skin because the effect on non calibrated devices is not so pleasant as expected.

LOL that would be the world on its head...if users have a NON calibrated TV, they better adjust that.

Think of it, when adapting background for NON Calibrated Tvs, the color on calibrated Tv is not what you want it to be..

Delagroov,
honestly Ive not undrstood the meaning of this sentence:
"LOL that would be the world on its head...if users have a NON calibrated TV, they better adjust that."

Anyway, just consider this: you have a TV set calibrated without real device calibrator. And therefore whichever guide you followed, you tuned your tv with your eyes. This way you may think that you have achieved a desiderable color aspect.
I underwent a device calibration so, in theory, my calibration should be more accurate than yours.
This mean only that your background color is, let's say, border line, you look at it grey, for me appears black on a calibrated tv, and dark/blu (or as you say antracite) on other tv (plasma) color tuned by eye and not with device.
You know, I'm real in love with your skin design.
And this is not in any way a critic, I had just discovered this and wanted to share with you just to understand the facts.

yea I just dont agree..

Take the color code and paste it in some Graphic Tool on you mac.

It is okay here on my TV and on my PC..

Once again ...I am not going to set colors for non calibrated Tvs.

Its good on you LG when you calibrated it..so you know its not blue.

You cannot make everyone satisfied..because of different TV's(calibrated and non calibrated)

I think that we are saying the same thing but in different ways

As Andy has coded the option to use include files(like CommonSkin.xml) for skin.xml, a version Magic-HD-Noire based on Magic_HD-Night with totally black backgrond is commin..

Now is easier to maintain and use different backgrounds...

That's a great news.
Thx Andy
