Can't connect FTP

Hi im trying to ftp the bbci player to my xtrend 900 but cannot connect to my box with filezilla for some reason keep getting this error... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 500 OOPS: cannot locate user entry:vsftpd
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server
Any ideas appreciated.

That error is normally a result of using a settings backup on the 3.0 image made from a earlier image such as 2.4, you will need to do a full reflash without using a settings backup.

Moved to here (assuming you are using ViX) as this has nothing to do with the player.

Is there no way to fix that with telnet? updating the vsftp.conf file?

not if you used a backup from ViX 2.4 on a ViX 3.0 series image.
