My Vu+Duo doesnt boot up anymore, it hangs on the 'loading image ' page, the word "vix" spins a few times in the top-left corner, it eventually disappears (then comes back & disappears again), I am left with the vix wallpaper. I dont know which vix image im running, but its fairly new, probably about six-months old. This problem has come out of the blue, I havent made any recent adjustments or changes to my Vu+, its been working fine up until today when I came back from work.

Ive restarted the box a few times, leaving it off for 15 minutes on one occasion, but that didnt get it to shift.

What do I do-help please. Cant stand the idea of having to reinstall the image.

6 months is pretty old...
can you ftp into the box & see if crash logs are being generated?
they will be in /home/root/logs/ unless you changed the default location.

Did ftp and accessed /home/root/logs/. When I double-click on 'logs' folder there's nothing there. So I guess its empty, there are no crash logs (unless I unknowingly changed default location, which I dont think I did)

I'd grab the latest image from here
http://www.world-of-satellite.com/enigma2/openvix/
and flash so...

Hello Theo/Judge,

Not trying to hijack your thread but I have the same problem if it is any consolation.

I have tried to flash the image again but it says there is a back up and I restored it from there.

The Vu+ now boots up and I have got pictures and sound whereas before I was just getting the sound. I have now got an image Version 2.4, the rest of the information is Kernel 3.1.1, Drivers 2012.02.28, Image: Release, Build 151, Last Update: 2012-06-11 15:41.

Not sure what happened but I am going to take Judge's advice and flash the latest image and see what happens.

I see you are new, it really is very simple, just read the various tutorials and help topics on here. They are easy to follow and have helped me. Failing that, just ask and I am sure people will help you as they have helped me in the past.

I hope you manage to get yours going.

Thanks for advice. Have installed the latest image successfully.

Ps -disappointed that when I click twice on the OK button it doesnt give blurb about the now&next programme (as the older images did). Or is there a setting to configure somewhere for this?

Menu -> Setup -> System -> User Interface -> Settings, Show second infobar.
This has been answered many times.

Ive found the answer in another thread. In a nutshell its- menu-> setup -> system -> user interface -> settings -> show second infobar, green to save.
