Hi guys, installed OpenVix 3.0.204 on my VuDuo a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to all who have contributed to that image !!!
The image is working real nice.
Got a question though ...
I don't get any sound when I'm playing m2ts files, is this something that isn't supported ?
The video shows OK but No sound !
If it is not supported, will it be in a later release ?
I have never tried to look on m2ts files before so I don't think the problem comes from installing my new image.
Anybody who can clarify ?

Its best if you update to the latest image...currently build 554 (I think). Then see if you still have this problem, build 204 is from a long time ago now and many improvements have been implemented. Going from a build that old I would suggest doing a fresh flash also and not an online update.

I would also recommend trying a newer build image first and as said it would be best to flash said image rather than trying to update some 300 plus builds

I have one m2ts file on my duo and it plays no problem.

Moved to the ViX-support section.

Hi again, can somebody from the VIX support team give me an answer if playing a m2ts file correctly should be possible on a VuDUo with OpenVix 3.0.553 ?

Not sure if anybody really knows that; I could imagine nobody using that format.

As I said earlier I am on 553 with duo and I can play m2ts, files with out any problems. So I'm guessing the problem lies in the particular file you are trying to play or some how you're installation has become corrupted.

do you have any options when hitting the audio button on the remote & watching the movie?

Hi,

What audio codec is contained in the m2ts?

e.g. if it's TrueHD the Vu will not play it but if regular Dolby digital it should. Assuming it's an M2ts from a bluray you may have to use a program such as tsmuxer on the pc to remove unsupported audio streams so it correctly switches to the audio stream it can play.

When I hit the audio button I get a 1 followed by ??? and a x at the end. I've tried with another m2ts file, no sound on that one either ...
Would be nice to get this to work, makes the Vuduo more of a mediaplayer ...

Thanks everybody who tries to clarify on my "problem" !

If you download the program "gspot" to you're PC. Then drag the m2ts file into it. It will tell you what video and audio codecs are in the file, and if you have the necessary ones on you're PC.

Hi mickyblueys, this is the result I got from Gspot :

Container:

File Type: MPEG-2 Transport Stream
Mime Type: video/mp2t

Nothing where the audio codec shold be listed.

I will start looking for a "real" mediaplayer instead, don't bother with this anymore !

Yeah just checked my m2ts file and my mkv's in gspot, and got the same result. Sorry for giving you duff info. It works perfect on all my other types. I'm guessing its because those file types are containers....again sorry.

Remux your m2ts file to mkv and see what happens. Using mkvmerge it takes a minute or so.

tsmuxer should confirm the audio codec
