Hi All,
I'm in Ireland & looking to get started.
I'm looking for some info on the best type of Sat receiver, & price range.
Not much good at the technical talk so I'll park it there!!
Cheers!!
Hiya, if you want a box that supports Irish Saorview, either by internal or external USB DVB T tuners, I'd look at the VU, GigaBlue or Extrend range.
If you're not bothered with Saorview & have a sub to Irish channels, Technomate have a few options.
All depends on budget & what you want from the box really.
Hi Judge,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm a SKY customer, my issue is the kids have taken over my only bit of R&R(watching sports).
I was thinking of purchasing a Vu Solo+, and setting up my own den.
Without the hassle of annoyance!!!! LOL:thumbsup:
Oh ya what kind of price range should this be?
Thanks again in advance....
Sorry again folks!!!
May be a no brainer to some.
With the Vu Solo+, does this mean HD, or does it not make a difference?
Over & Out!!
As with any VU box, HD will work perfectly with your Sky Ireland card sub if you the HD sub?
Hey Judge,
Don't have HD sub, but have 1080 TV.
Thats why I was enquiring.
Thankks for your reply!!
So, without a sub you want hd channels?
ITV 1 HD, BBC 1 HD, CH4 HD work perfectly in Ireland without sub.
RTE2 HD works fine on usb dvb-t tuners, but if you need it on sat, it does require a current sub to sky or a new lnb added to your dish.
