Ok got myself a Ultimo sat box but seem to be having a major problem. The box keeps freezing and losing signal to my amp.
I've tried 3 different images and its happened on all of them. Came down this morning and looks as if the box froze at 21.46 last night, said on amp no signal.

For some reason it also loses signal to my Onkyo amp, saying no signal from Ultimo. Now is this a software issue or a problem with the Ultimo? Thought it maybe a handshake issue with amp but why does the box keep freezing?

Completely gutted never had any issues with my DM8000 at all.

Hi,
I have 1 Ultimo connected to my Onkyo 905 and never saw something like that. I do not have CEC enabled and my Onkyo is only running a few hours in a row though. I also forgot to switch them off 1-2 times and nothings freezed there.

Do you have CEC enabled?

ciao

Thanks for quick reply.

Where can I check on CEC ?

It's a weird one as ultimo clock said 21-46 on front
Of it this morning at 5-40 so take it that's when the
Problem happened. Turned TV and amp on and TV screen
Was just blue where there was no signal from Ultimo.
The amp just displays No signal .
.

When I was watching TV the picture froze once but audio
Carried on, I had to reboot box.

A 'frozen' display is an indication of a systemcrash (look for 'seg fault' in the debuglog for confirmation). However: not much to be done about that.

Activate debuglogs (in logmanager), restart GUI and once this crash has happened (and hence you rebooted the box) look in the log (make sure to look in the correct log, from before the reboot).

Ok came home tonight and ultimo was sending signal to amp but another problem.
Audio was being sent but no picture, you could get EPG info bar info up etc just no TV pictre

I've enabled CEC as it was disabled and changed the HDMI cable
also updated VIX.

Now will wait and see if it helps.

Don't really want to try it if no one actually know what it does or how its set up.

Hehe, if nobody does, we'll never learn.
And what harm could be done

Well same problem again this morning the Ultimo had froze
at 20 past midnight.

Completely stumped on what this problem could be.
Rebooted it and have now left it and amp on to see
if it freezes up again during the day.

Have you tried bypassing the amp altogether and testing without the amp for a while? Maybe use optical out for audio, just for the purpose of this test.

That is next on my list mate.
Just ordered a long enough HDMI cable.

Just think if it was a problem with amp it would
be more common knowledge as I can't be only
one with Onkyo 608 amp and Ultimo.

Just called home and ultimo had froze at 5-46 this morning with
amp left on so not to sure it's an amp problem now.
Will attach straight to TV and see how it goes.
