Hi.

Tried a scan of Hotbird. It missed (amongst others) all channels on:

DVB-S2 8PSK Fec 2/3 12303 V / 27500.

It scans in manually no problem.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Your satellites.xmal file should contain the follwing line in the Hotbird section to allow it to scan this transponder:

<transponder frequency="12303000" symbol_rate="27500000" polarization="1" fec_inner="2" inversion="2" modulation="2" system="1" pilot="2" rolloff="0"/>

If it's not there, or isn't exactly like the example I posted, copy and paste it into your own satellites.xml file, re-start your box and do a re-scan.

Generate a new satellites.xml from here

http://satellites-xml.org/

FTP the file you create ( the .xml file ) to etc/enigma2 on your receiver, then restart the Gui and try a scan again.

Thanks guys, but neither worked.

@Phoenix: I uploaded to /etc/tuxbox, as that's where I found my satellites file.

That's not good. Now you have overwritten a systemfile, and your file in turn will be overwritten by an online update.
Your file should go to etc/enigma2 as has been advised above :rolleyes:

I've had this problem a couple of times in 4-5 years, and doing a manual scan pick's up the channels... After a while, and a new xml file or two, this seems to be sorted. I've got no clues as to why, though...

This issue plagues my receiver vu+ duo hotbird, on some channels as RTDOC HD, RTHD are ok but this Mediaset: New frequency for Italia 1 HD: 11919.00MHz, pol.V (DVB-S2 SR:29900 FEC:2/3 SID:176 PID:2740[MPEG-4] /2743 Italian- Clear). along with others are unattainable :confused: . I'm using vodafone mobile wifi usb dongle via pc and network cable between pc and duo ethernet port. Duo network test result as follows;

Lan adapter / Lan connection green tick
Local / green tick
DHCP / enabled green tick
IP address / unconfirmed red cross
Name server/ unconfirmed red cross

Two networks available in windows network and sharing centre, Network 2 (home network) Internet access homegroup joined and Unidentified network (public network) no network access and both are on separate connections. I've tried joining them but no change in the receiver network status, even assigning an ip to the receiver in the network settings thats within the range specified by the mobile router options via the browser on the computer. I know there are several issues highlighted here but the missing HD channels on hotbird is crucial i can live without net connectivity via the receiver but it would be nice, thanks in advance :cool: Btw the cable traffic light indicators between the receiver and PC are flashing orange is on and yellow flashing (Pc end) and one green light and one yellow flashing periodically (receiver end).
