Please could someone clarify what the difference in these 2 are and what is he most used/most reliable?

I have read that the OpenVix can be upgraded instantly via he interface.

Im coming from a really old image so a point in the rite direction would be much appreciated.

Ive installed the VTi Vu+ Team Image Duo V 4.2.4 but its so different to my old one.

Ti is based on VU's OI; which in itself is based on a very old Dream firmware.
ViX is based on PLi: PLi took it's own way years ago, and has many many features that no OI has.

Having said that: you really should try several images for a week or so, and decide what you like best. I think my choice is obvious......

As for stability: last week I installed VTi and got crazy by all the crashes after installing plugins from their feeds. But on ViX we also can have accidents.

Installed the both images.

Found the VTI very clunky..........the VIX .....wow!

Amazing to say the least. Probably due to me being more used to the VIX and the standard theme being very pleasant on the eye. Also helps that it doesn't crash as much as my old image.

1 problem tho. My peg is not working very well. I've set it to download onto USB each morning which looks like is working but the peg will not show on my channel listing unless I actually go to the channel.

have you an internal hdd in the duo? if so, try storing epg there & let us know if you have the same issue.

No hd installed unfortunately. Would that be why? I followed a guide on this forum on how to setup using USB but not working very well.

My 2cents.

My experience is that Vix is the best.
However, everything depends on what you consider the best experience.
BlackHole and VTi both based on official Vu+ coding.
Vix, Openpli, and all other images for vu+ box's are all based on Openpli coding.

First, I will discard all images that are based on Vu+ OI, because the official Vu+ coding will not have all the features Pli has.

Second, if you have to decide between Openpli and Vix, then Vix has a better skin and is easier and nicer to navigate. I find the TV experience better.
Regarding support Vix is good, but in this point i would say that currently Openpli is better regarding IPTV. Vix has been sleeping a little bit on that.
OpenPli 4 is the image that has been supported by many "premium iptv servers". However, Vix will not work or have problems with their plugins. e.g. Ruya plugin, XCplugin etc.
Maybe it is because of their legal issues, but there is no much information to workaround that.
If your main usage is for satellite or even softcam Vix should not have problems and provide you a good experience.
