still waiting for delivery of my internal HDD - until then - is it possible to record to a hard drive on a network?
so you can map to a hard drive on a network and vu+ will recognise it as a hard drive to record to?

if you can - how?

Can be done, not sure how good recordings will be.

In the plugins feed theres a network mountmanager, you can mount a shared folder from a PC with that. Once done you will need to change your recordings path in Setup > Recording.

this worked faultlessly, incredible.

the output file was slightly sluggish in terms of rate of play, or framerate (whatever you call it), but understandable as its recording to an external hard drive, connected via USB, to another PC.
Presume the files should be perfect when recording direct to the internal HDD?

edit - that was a full 1080i file tho, an SD recording played fine.

can't believe i didnt buy this box sooner.
