alien 2 box

The Alien 2 box is sold on here but not really loved.

I can read the spark side of this is good and that is about all.

So am i right in thinking this is like a closed sourced box in here?
but then the pluggins, what can you achieve here, is it just like you tube and facebook. Or is there some way to change skins or get 7 day epg? If not is this possible in the future.

Egnima2 on the unit, heavly hated again, but does anyone have it working with 7 day epg, and skins?

I would not go so far as to say it's hated here, But it is not a recommended box when compared to other broadcom based receivers.

The spark OS side is closed source so like the ferguson's and other closed source boxes you are at the mercy of the manufacturers to provide support and updates etc for this. The E2 side is at best seriously lacking due to the CPU it uses, there are one or two minor teams playing around with it but nothing major as far as i can see.

It would make a nice little box if your happy to play and experiment or if you just intend to use the spark side of things but i personally dont think it can be considered user friendly or suitable for the majority of people on the E2 side of things.
