Hello,

The LCD screen embedded within the GB works OK when I reboot and/or did flash the box. But it stays fix and doesn't change when I change TV channels etc..

Here is what it looks like all the time when I use the GB:
21125

I did try to follow this thread but it diddn't work: http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?22674-Picons&p=169528&viewfull=1#post169528

Picons work ok on the TV with enigma2-plugin-picons-tv-ocram.hd.transparent

/media/usb/picon# find / -name picon

/media/usb/picon
/picon

/media/usb/picon# ls -l | more

-rw------- 1 root root 4576 Nov 18 00:46 1_0_19_1B1C_802_2_11A0000_0_0_0.png
-rw------- 1 root root 6289 Nov 18 00:46 1_0_19_1B1D_802_2_11A0000_0_0_0.png

/picon# ls -l | more

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1830 Nov 16 11:45 1-2-3.tv.png
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 2184 Nov 16 11:45 101tv.png
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1952 Nov 16 11:45 13emerue.png
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 2093 Nov 16 11:45 13emeruehd.png

here are my questions:
1/ By the default when you install OpenVix, do you need to do any trick to get picons shown on the LCD screen?
2/ Why do have two picon directories? How do I know which one is used? Can I delete one?
3/ Any idea why this doesn't work?

Thanks
XabiX

PS: Openvix

version=3.0
build=421
drivers=20121116
date=20121117194900

FYI I have upgraded the box and picons where upgraded too:
Upgrading enigma2-plugin-picons-tv-ocram.hd.transparent on root from 2012-11-16--11-40-08 to 2012-11-22--15-52-46...

if I do a
root@gbquad:/picon# ls -l | more

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1830 Nov 22 15:58 1-2-3.tv.png
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 2184 Nov 22 15:58 101tv.png
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1952 Nov 22 15:58 13emerue.png

I can see that the picons are stored in /picon. Should I remove then the ones in the usb key?

now:
build=440
drivers=20121121
date=20121123094918

this image didn't work correctly with recordings so I did another update (within the same day) and now we are at 445.
build=445
drivers=20121121
date=20121123163047

I removed the file skin_display220_no_picon.xml provided within mu 1st post. Now the screen is not fixed/frozen and gets update when I change channel etc..

But I still don't have any picon displayed. I think I am back like with a clean image of OpenVix.
Do i need to do anything special to get picons also displayed on the screen?

Basic question,
do people have picons displayed within the GB LCD screen without doing anything special?

Merci

Not with VIX, either use the xml from openmips or rossis one :thumbsup:

Hi Marty,

i did try with the openmips following your post here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?22674-Picons&p=169528&viewfull=1#post169528 but didn't seem to work.

Where can I find the Rossis one?

by the way, why can't we aks OpenVix folks to add this directly within the image (part of one of the patches)?

Merci

I have installed the plugin but it looks like it doesn't find the picons.
On top I can see when the channel is HD or not but I don't see anything else.

Is this plugin supposed to be using the default picons or is there another set of picons required?

for my quad custom lcd display xml you need my large custom picons..

have you even read my lcd picons for the quad thread?

No you need to use different folder:

osd picons in picon
lcd picons in lcd_picon

Yes, quite sharp.
We also have 'REC' in red when recording and a green or red update icons too.

PS great work Rossi :thumbsup: can't wait for a FULL 28°E picon set (hint hint :p )

Thanks! Picture looks great... Makes a lot of sense to make big icons that you can actually read... I don't have 28E so cannot really use it. Hope to get some for 19E some day...

Yes I did but I needed Astra picons but will re read :) (I did asked if available within the thread few weeks ago)

There is no way to use a tool to scale down the ones installed directly as plugins? instead of having to resize them. Even though resizing could lead to a better fit within the screen but as a temp solution.

28°E is Astra :p (as well as several other orbital locations :D )

use the openmips xml if you want your osd picons to show on the lcd without doing anything.

OpenVIX guys,

Any reason not to integrate by default the same xml file than the one provided with openmips?

@rossi2000: I should then remove your plugin and just copy the openmips file over like the one provided in your thread here?
http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?22674-Picons&p=169104&viewfull=1#post169104

I will try but I had the impression the the picons with openmips xml file were displayed too small.

I think it would be worth to provide a better xml file within the default image but I agree it s always depends on everyone wishes :d

@rossi2000:

would be good to have a how to bc I really feel bad as it doesnt work for me. I have the picons that I downloaded from the plugin plus the one I copied over given by tinos in /picons and then the screen is back to not working.

FYI when you remove the plugin you get:
