Satellite television broadcaster Premier Sports has agreed a deal to continue its coverage of Nascar’s top-tier Sprint Cup Series in the UK throughout the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

The agreement, an extension of a deal first penned in 2011, will see Premier Sports continue to provide coverage of all 36 races from the championship for the next two seasons. In addition, the broadcaster will broadcast highlights of the Nascar Truck Series for the duration of the deal.

“This is great news that we will again be in place come the Daytona 500 in February as the exclusive live UK broadcast partner for the Nascar Sprint Cup Series for a further two seasons,” said Premier Sports chief executive Richard Sweeney. “On top of continuing our exclusive coverage of the Nascar Sprint Cup Series, we have also struck a deal to show highlights of every Nascar Camping World Truck Series race through the two year extension.”

Richard Webb, operations director at Premier Sports, said: “On top of highlights from every race, we will give viewers the opportunity to vote using social media at the start of each season for selected Nascar Camping World Truck Series races to watch live. From the outset, the channel has been developed by listening to what sports fans want and in essence they are the driving force behind our model.”

Nascar senior director of broadcasting, Seth Bacon, said: “The UK has a passionate, loyal Nascar fan base and we are excited to continue our partnership with Premier Sports to find new and creative ways to bring even more Nascar programming to the market. The addition of Nascar Camping World Truck Series content on Premier Sports is another great opportunity for us to showcase the world’s most exciting motorsport in the UK.”
