Just wondering,can a Dreambox 8000 or any other dreambox image be used on a VU Duo?

No, it needs to be recoded for the VU+, I dont believe you can just transfer the image across.

Thanx Stan. I don`t know the technical capabilities of both machines,but I thought VU was a "clone" of the DM 8000 and that what made both boxes tick was the Enigma 2 software.

Its def not a clone. The dedicated image for the 800 will not have the drivers for the VU, bit like trying to get asus drivers to work with gigabyte mobo.

The Duo is NOT a clone of the DM8000, it uses its owns drivers so that it can legally use enigma2 and the hardware is completely different, although has similar capabilities.
