Before my new Gigablue QUAD I had VU DUO which have 2 card readers for our 2 Danish SAT providers, Canal Digital and Viasat, but QUAD have only one card reader, so I want to use conax CAM for Canal digital, but it is not working. ny known problems with CI slots?

CAM's need driversupport. As the uad is fairly new, chances are that you have to await a driverupdate.

PS: Using a CAM will possibly give trouble in another area: recordings may be scrambled.

Hi Rob van der Does. I like to ask you direct it you think I "shot myself in the foot" by going from VU Duo to Gigablue Quad, because
I rearly need to have both Canal Digital and Viasat cards working at the same time. I dont mind wayting for new drivers, but if new
drivers do no solve the CI problem 100 %, I will reconsider th GB.

Maybe you should consider using an external cardreader. There are several, but I can't advise you in that area.
Several models are Smargo, Easymouse or Quadmouse.

Dear peepnpop
I got a Smargo too, but admit I am not that technical.
Could you please tell me how to set it up to work?

install smargo in usb slot

you find the cccam.cfg file assuming you have already installed a cccam

with the editor you add those two lines in the file and save (i use gigablue control center- FTP)

SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttyUSB0 6000000

restart cccam and your done

I have tried to do same. Started on pc to set smargo in dreambox mode, it was set to normal.
After that added the two lines in cccam.cfg, restarted cccam, but it dont work for me.
I tried as well to restart the box.
I noticed that the LED on smargo was on, when connected to pc, but only flash a little on box when restarting the box.
So connected to the quad the the led on smargo is off. I have two smargo plus, and both react same way.
Have you got a good trick?

are the usb to serial drivers installed?

I just bought the smargo, didn't hook it up to the pc.

Plugged in to the back, changed cccam.cfg and it works.

I'm using openAaf for the moment....

You can read my thread here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?23638-Is-Smargo-support-embedded-within-the-OpenVIX-3-0-image-for-the-QUAD&highlight=libusb

you need to do:
opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-usbserial

Hi XabiX
In build 478 there is no usbserial plugin to install,
but I found this several places on the Internet:
enigma2-plugin-drivers-usb2serial

Is that the way to go?

Shoud I update the Smargo to ver 1.7?
Cccam ver is 2.2.1
In cccam.cfg I have:
SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttyUSB0 6000000

Thank you all for your patient with me. It is now working and I am happy!
The problem was both Smargo readers.
After I finally succeeded in upgrading the Smargo to ver 1.5 (which is impossible with Win 7 64 bit) everything works.
But I like to learn of that, I spent a lot of time to find Lsusb, so please tell me how find it?
Best regards and have a nice day!

you connect to telnet or ssh into the box and you type
