How did you reboot the box?!

What happens, is that everytime enigma is set to shutdown/reboot/restart gui from the shutdown menu, it will export the epg cache to "/media/hdd/epg.dat". If you restart the box by running a telnet reboot, killall -9 enigma2, or shutdown now command, then enigma2 doesn't get to call this export routine from itself... Also, if power is suddenly lost to the box, or it crashes, it can cause the epg.dat not to be saved. Everytime engima2 loads up, it will check /media/hdd to see if epg.dat exists. If so, it will import it in to the cache and delete the file...

there is a Enigma2 limitation where the epg.dat HAS to be on /media/hdd in order for enigma2 to reload the data on boot. the easest way to do this is if you dont have a HDD is to create a symlink from /media/usb /media/hdd as follows

ln -f /media/usb /media/hdd
