Got a VU+ DUO, DM-8000, TM-5300, TM-600.

All work fine on my Stab Motor apart from the VU+.

I set up the tuners exactly like my DM-8000

i.e
Tuner A POSITIONER (usuals)
Tuner B EQUAL TO, 2ND CABLE OF MOTORISED & also tried as NOT CONFIGURED

And then i tried the reverse of the above

i.e
Tuner B POSITIONER (usuals)
Tuner A EQUAL TO, 2ND CABLE OF MOTORISED & also tried as NOT CONFIGURED

However my motor will not move at all. Tried VIX, VTi & Dream Elite Images.

Even tried to move the dish manually to no avail

My instinct says the receiver is faulty but i'm here for a second opinion before i send it back.

Thank You In Advance

have you tried enabling "extra voltage" in the tuner config??
and enabled say 19 east/13 east to say tuner A @ lnb 1

I'm on the original image at the mo which doesn't have that option. Will flash VIX back on and get back to ya.

In Tuner Settings i only have the option "Set voltage and 22Khz" which is set to YES.

got to go soon,...but the tuner, is it set to simple?? or advanced or nothing connected

go menu, setup, service searching, tuner config, tuner A (thats if your motor is connected to tuner A)
select configeration mode, and press the side ways button, set it to advanced
then select satellite, select say 28 east (again side ways button)
then set it to lnb 1 (most likely showing as nothing connected) again side ways button
voltage mode set to poarization
increased voltage, set to yes
diseqc mode set to 1.2
set your longitude/latitude
use USALs set to yes
press ok to save
then repeat the above for say 19/13 east ect, (no need to save just do all the sats you want, then press ok all sats set to lnb 1)
that should then sort out your problem...also for now leave tuner B unconnected to a coax

Thanks Basilyoung. I'm out now and will be back tomorrow so will try then. Will keep you informed as to how I get on.

I just find it strange that I've never had to follow this procedure for my other receivers.

On a side note, I'm shocked and amazed how similar the VU+ is to my DM-8000 with regards to it's images.

It will never replace it but, my god, it comes pretty 'effin close.

are u sure the cable connecting the box to the motor is good with no breakages (there might be an invisible one)

My Dreambox and 2 Technomates are working fine on the same motor. Motor, cabling etc ain't the problem. The receiver just won't move the dish.

I still think the receiver is faulty...!!!

Spoke to the store where i purchased it from and they believe it to be faulty also.

Sending the box back for a replacement.

Will let you know what happens when the new one arrives.

Thanks

Ok Got a new replacement receiver today.

Using the original image only...did everything as explained by Baz in post #8

Dish is now moving from left to right. but does not stop to scan.

never succeded in making it stop on its own although think it should.

u have to stop it manually, when it is locked.

How would i do that...I got no options for that.

image doesn't have "positioner setup" that allows you to move the dish and lock it
