Can only watch the channel being streamed via WebIF

This is a weird one

Can watch any channel and record another fine.

However, when in the kitchen on my laptop connects to WebIF and streams a channel, the streaming fine. However back in the lounge where we are watching TV connected to the box, the recording light comes on on the box and we can only watch the channel being steamed via WebIF.

None of the channels on channel list are greyed out as they would be if there was no free tuner so there is a free tuner.

It never used to do this, I used to be able to stream any channel and watch another on the box whilst recording another.

any ideas

yes

but as I said, the box works fine when not streaming. as in, I can watch a channel and record another.

but when I connect to WebIF and stream a channel on my laptop, i cant watch any other channel using the remote

when stream is stopped (i.e. i close VLC on my laptop) everything returns to normal
