All depents how much recordings to you intend and how many you will save. Most users find 1TB or 500GB enough. I've tested upto 1TB, not tested 2TB yet myself.

Can anyone recommend a 1TB hard drive compatible with the TM-TWIN, please?

Most 3.5" SATAIII drives will be fine. Even a SATAII 2.5" drive can be used with velcro bonding it to the cradle ;)

I have a 1TB Western Digital working flawlessly in my twin.
Bought as an external My Book USB drive, but removed from casing & using internal sata.

new question... would it be possible to conact a NAS box to the network and record directly to that?

Yes it would, you will need to mount it and than point your recording path to the directory on it.

Just to point out that the.ts files are rather large. If you intend to archive them, it may be worth your while encoding them to another format. Added bonus is otehr device can then play them if on a networked drive.

Just put an old WD 500gb hard drive in the box and it works a treat.
