I know this is a big ask, but is it possible to use an android device to log into your VU+ DUO (latest VTI image) and set a programme to record if you forgot when you left for work/holidays?

fingers crossed!

hi,
it is possible. you need
dyndns account
Router with port forwarding
dreamdroid APP

configure your Router/duo to update dyndns regulary
configure your Router to forward port 1080 to port 80 oft your duo
install dreamdroid and configure it with your dyndns address and port 1080 together with user root and your password

ciao

hi
yes there should be even an APP Form VU+ but you can also search for dreambox and an APP which controls a dream might work.

I've found apps to stream but none to remotely record unless I'm missing a feature. I'll look again :-)

Pretty sure dreamdroid worked on my ipod last time I tried, so should work on an iphone.

I use dreamote for my iPad to control the box, and dream droid for my android

As said, you need to enable port forwarding, and then enter your details to the box... You can then browse through the services, and find the event (assuming EPG data is loaded), and just add a timer from the event...

Dreamdriod for Android works a treat, but you will need a dyndns account and a hostname to use the app outside your network.
