Hi i have downloaded the VLC player but im not sure how to configure it

It asks to add a new server

Does the VLC player allow me to stream video from my PC to the box?

If someone can shed some light to this it would be appreciated.

To stream video from your PC - you don't need vlc, just mount cifs network share and watch videos from your PC as if they were on the hard drive of your Duo.
On the other hand, perhaps vlc could be useful for video formats that are not supported by the Duo media player.
However, when trying to add a server to vlc, I see that the dialog allows to chose only between mpeg1 and mpeg2 codecs, so it is pretty limited.
Having said that, I never went any further than just to peek into that server dialog, so I would like ho hear from people who actually were able to use the VLC plugin for something.
