There is a problem with some of my mkv movies. Files, that worked perfectly with older (2.4) builds, do not work anymore. Tried some other images and the result is similar.
OpenPLi 2.1 and AAF 1.0 - problematic files are working, OpenPLi 3.0 and AAF 2.0 - not working. Also no problems with playback in Black Hole and VTI images.
Files that do not work are high bitrate blu-ray remuxes made with MakeMKV.

Might be worth posting some more info about the mkv file type using something like mediainfo. I have watched about 30-40 mkvs at least using the openvix 3.0, and not a single problem with anyone of them...

So, could just be the huge bit rate, but wouldn't have thought so.

Just posted mine so you can have a compare. I did notice mine was a v1 whereas yours was v2...

My file plays fine with ViX 2.4
Yes, other files, that don't work, have high bitrate too.

So where are the mkv files and how are you accessing them? i.e LAN, direct attached etc?
Makemkv as I am sure you know, keeps the original content and just places it in a MKV container, so they ALL tend to have high bitrate which stresses most environments that are not setup for this issue.
ALL my blurays are ripped through Makemkv and work fine with my media player, and although I never could get them to work in 2.4 () the ones I have tried in 3.0 have played without problems :)

Files are in eSATA disk, so that should not be a problem. Most of them are playing fine.

Try running the mkv through the popcorn audio converter and convert the DTS soundtrack to ac3 or DD. Betchya it works OK then :)

If the DTS track is default then I find they play up (even if there is an AC3 track to choose) so changing to AC3 makes no difference. If no dts track at all then Ive never had an MKV fail.

http://audioconverter.heartware.dk/Tutorial/

Dont preserve dts track though - and single file mode

You are wright, the problem is DTS soundtrack. I removed it with mkvmerge and the file started to play. But with ViX 2.4 that same file works with DTS sound.

From debug file, latest build 319 installed.

Weird that it was working on 2.4 vs 3.0, but the only other thing I can think of as a comparison, is that mine was 6 channels, and yours was 7/6 channels?!

Some mkvs with dts are ok with 2.4 and some are not (haven't found out why - simpler just to convert or remove the DTS).

ViX 3.0 makes it worse with even some DD or ac3 tracks losing sound randomly (I have et9x000's though)

I'm using 2.4 at present because of this.

thanks
