Can someone please guide me how to load mgcamed on to this box using usb or RS232 .Hope its ok to ask this ? if not just remove.

Hi..
its fine to ask.. But why via RE232..
all you need is the MGcamd 1.35a ipk file and ftp it to tmp folder.
Then put the mg-cfg and the newcamd.list file into usr > keys

now got to your box..

Press Blue > Vix > Install Local extention

Just folooow the on screen instruction for GUI reboot ..

Now Press Blue > Softcam Manager > Green to Start.. Blue for AutoStart

Press green to save..

PS.. you abviously have to have your newcamd.list file edited to your own settings..

Thanks for your quick reply.Can you do all this on this box! 202e thought this was closed source so cannot use vix image :confused:just use the remote to enter N or C line?

Anyway,mgcamd will only work on open source enigma boxes... So you're out of luck I'm afraid

the 102E has mgcam available i can get it to connect and it shows newcamd generic, it on the latest patched firmware, i can only get ccamd to work :-(

It might well be possible then, but I haven't one to try, just never heard of mgcamd on those boxes...

Maybe someone who has one will be able to help...

I Know that you can only with Cccam or Newcamd
you will need a file < allshares.dat > in a usb stick which edited with notepad should have
1 to 4 C lines and 1-2 N lines

tools
upgrade by usb
allcode>start
write flash ?

I browsed to my box's ip address to add my lines, though mgcam is only available via the menu. maybe i should try flashing the file......?
