Is it possible to get IMDb movie data on my recorded movies like searching in EPG with the red button?

Yes, no problem.
During playback 2 times OK (to bring up EventView), then Menu --> IMDB details

Great thank you , but is there a way to do it without actually having to play the movie? From the recordings list?

Yes, no problem.
Select file, press guide (or Info or EPG whatever the button is named) to bring up EventView, then Menu --> IMDB details

I have just tried that but it brings up the IMDb details of the TV programme that is playing in the background. The stored data of the movie/file are shown, then when I select Menu --> IMDB details the wrong data is searched

In what build is your box? On the latest version (3.0-316) this works fine.

I'm on 3.0 - 268 I will do an update later this evening and re try then.....

I must be doing something wrong here, I have updated to the latest build 3.0 316 and I am still unable to get IMBd information on my recorded files without actually playing them? When I follow the instructions above I get Info on the current TV programme and not the selected file.

Should I have installed a plugin somewhere along the line or are all the necessary ones included in the image ?

Nope, it should work 'out-of -the-box'.
I have no idea why it doesn't work for you??
